CHAMPIONS

JOHN CENA April 3, 2005 -
John Cena nearly won the 2005 Royal Rumble, narrowly missing out on a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 21. However,
he would rebound to defeat Orlando Jordan, Booker T, and Kurt Angle in SmackDown!'s No. 1 Contender Tournament, earning a
shot at JBL as his reward. In the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 21, JBL did everything he could to rattle Cena, including
helping Orlando Jordan defeat Cena for the United States Championship. When WrestleMania 21 rolled around, The Doctor of Thuganomics
took sweet revenge, defeating JBL with an F-U to claim his first WWE Championship.

ORLANDO JORDAN March 3, 2005 -
Orlando Jordan got his first taste of WWE gold when he
won the United States Championship over John Cena on the March 3 edition of SmackDown! Although Jordan got the win, he didn't
quite do it on his own. JBL and The Bashams pretended to leave the arena only to come back during Jordan's match. With the
referee distracted by The Bashams, JBL snuck up on Cena and nailed him with the WWE Championship belt right on top of the
head. After that the pin was academic and Jordan was crowned the new U.S. Champion as JBL's cabinet added more hardware to
their resume.

PAUL LONDON March 31, 2005 -
Paul London won an exciting 8-Man Cruiserweight Battle Royal to become new Cruiserweight Champion, last eliminating former
tag team partner Billy Kidman. Chavo Guerrero, the former champ, had his fate sealed when all seven competitors immediately
tossed Guerrero from the ring.

REY MYSTERIO & EDDIE GUERRERO Feb. 20, 2005 -
The Basham Brothers won a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match on the Jan. 13 edition of SmackDown!, ending the reign of Rey
Mysterio & Rob Van Dam. Mysterio invoked his rematch clause at No Way Out; with RVD injured, Rey named Eddie Guerrero
as his new partner. After Rey stopped Eddie from using the Tag Team Championship as a weapon once, he finally gave in to the
idea; with the referee distracted, Latino Heat nailed Doug Basham with the championship and pinned him to claim the victory.
